List of reimbursed drugs, is an important part of Service Packages covering the Fund of Compulsory Health Care Insurances for the population. The list of reimbursable drugs aims at improving the quality of service for all patients, particularly for people in need. In this regard, through the new list of drugs, FCHC aims at increasing the attention toward categories such as retirees and patients suffering from serious illnesses.

In compiling the list of drugs there are some scientific criteria which have been taken into consideration, by giving priority to drugs used for severe diseases; diseases of high risk for life; diseases that cause disability; diseases that risk of being spread into the society; diseases that cause much suffering as well as chronic illnesses requiring prolonged treatment.

Ondansetron contains the active substance ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate.

Ondansetron is a selective antagonist of 5-hydroxytryptamine receptors-3 (5-HT3) and belongs to a group of medicines called antiemetics.

Ondansetron is used:

  • in the management of nausea and vomiting induced by cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiotherapy;
  • in the treatment and prevention of post-operative nausea and vomiting.

 

Gastroresistant film coated tablets - 40 mg

Pantofren contains pantoprazole, which is a drug that reduces acid production in the stomach (selective proton pump inhibitor).

Pantofren is used in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and above:

  • in the treatment of moderate and severe forms of gastro-oesophageal reflux (inflammation of the gullet);

Pantofren is used in adults:

  • in the treatment of gastric ulcer;
  • in the treatment of duodenal ulcer;
  • combined with antibiotics in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori;
  • in the long-term treatment of conditions whereby the stomach produces hydrochloric acid in large quantities (e.g. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).

Prulan contains the active substance metoclopramide hydrochloride which is an antiemetic. It works on a part of your brain that prevents you from feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting).

10 mg tablets:

Adult population

Prulan is used in adults:

  • to prevent delayed nausea and vomiting that may occur after chemotherapy
  • to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by radiotherapy
  • to treat nausea and vomiting including nausea and vomiting which may occur with a migraine.

Metoclopramide can be taken with oral painkillers in case of migraine to help painkillers work more effectively.

Paediatric population

Prulan is indicated in children (aged 1-18 years) if other treatment does not work or cannot be used to prevent delayed nausea and vomiting that may occur after chemotherapy.

Prulan is used in children (aged 1-18 years) only if other treatment does not work or cannot be used:

  • to prevent delayed nausea and vomiting that may occur after chemotherapy
  • to treat nausea and vomiting that has occurred after surgery.

Tablets - 5 mg

Gastroresistant capsules - 20 mg

Ulcozol capsules contain the active substance omeprazole. Omeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. Proton pump inhibitors, like omeprazole, reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Ulcozol is used for the treatment of the following diseases:

  • acid reflux from stomach to oesophag, which causes pain, inflammation and burn (reflux oesophagitis and gastrooesophageal reflux disease)
  • ulcers in the upper part of intestine (duodenal ulcers) or in stomach (gastric ulcers)
  • if you have ever had NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) related ulcers, and you should continue taking NSAID, omeprazole may either treat ulcer or prevent it
  • ulcers caused by infections from a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori
  • excessive acidity in stomach which is caused by a syndrome called Zollinger-Ellison.

 

Solution for injection - (10 mg + 2 mg + 10 mg + 100 mg ) / 2 ml

Vicom-B contains the active substances thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) and nicotinamide (vitamin B3), which belong to the vitamins of B group. These vitamins are part of the enzymes that catalyze reactions in the metabolism of sugars, fats and proteins. The combination of B group vitamins is used for their effect in a variety of important processes and functions of the body and mainly in the inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the nerves and motor apparatus.

Vicom-B, as a solution for injection, is used to treat conditions of B group vitamin deficiency.
