Sertraline takes part in the group of drugs called selective serotonin re - uptake inhibitors (SSRIs); these drugs are used to treat depression and / or anxiety disorders.
Sertraline is used in the treatment of:
• depression and prevention of recurrence of depression (in adults);
• social anxiety disorders (in adults);
• post - traumatic stress disorders (in adults);
• panic disorders (in adults);
• obsessive - compulsive disorders (OCD) (in adults, children and adolescents aged 6 -17 years old).
