Production Lines
Profarma produces 276 pharmaceutical products. The manufacturing of pharmaceutical products is divided in two main buildings, where air parameters are electronically controlled. The production units operate with the vertical (top to bottom) flow principle and are organized as follows:

O.S.D.F
Oral Solid Dosage Form Unit
Profarma produces 134 oral solid dosage forms, which are:
1. Compressed tablets (CT)
2. Sugar-Coated tablets (SCT)
3. Film-Coated Tablets (FCT)
4. Enteric – Coated Tablets (ECT)
5. Controlled – Release Tablets
The production capacity in this unit is 3 000 000 units per day, but currently the production rate is 1 000 000 - 1 500 000 units per day.
There are three different main methods of producing tablets depending on the technological process:
1. Dry granulation process
2. Wet granulation process
3. Direct compression
In this unit will be also produced two new pharmaceutical forms:
1. Hard Capsules
2. Sachets
S.V.I.S.U
Small Volume Injectable Solutions Unit (S.V.I.S.U)
Profarma produces 59 small volume injectable solutions of different volumes (1 ml, 2 ml, 3 ml, 4 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml and 50 ml).
Daily production capacity is:
100 000 ampoules with a volume of 1 - 2 ml
20 000 ampoules with a volume of 3 ml
40 000 ampoules with a volume of 4 ml
40 000 ampoules with a volume of 5 ml
30 000 ampoules with a volume of 10 ml
5 000 vials with a volume of 20 ml
5 000 vials with a volume of 50 ml
The production of the small volume injectable solutions is performed in controlled environments, classified according to GMP, in class A, B and C.
The production is carried out by two methods:
1. With terminal sterilization.
2. Aseptic process.
L.V.I.S.U
Large Volume Injectable Solutions Unit (L.V.I.S.U)
Profarma produces 11 large parenteral solutions of different volumes (100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml) packaged in glass bottles or plastic bags.
The production capacity is 8 000 units per day.
The production lines of large parenteral solutions are divided in:
1. The production line of large parenteral solutions in glass bottles
2. The production line of large parenteral solutions in plastic bags (over wrapping plastic bags).

Packaging Unit
The production in this unit is carried out in a controlled environment, classified according to GMP, in class D.
In this unit is performed the packaging of solid dosage form products and small volume injectable solutions.
The processes are automatic and in accordance with the highest standards of technology.
